Patrica Hodson

In the mid 1990’s Pat Hodson began to see how she could make an almost unending sequence of images by exploiting a computer’s ability to create complex repeats and infinite variations. However the printouts on printing paper disappointed her so she began to experiment with different papers and with different collage processes. Eventually she found that long fibred paper tissue could be layered with silk. The technique involves pasting together layers of thin tissue and a layer of silk, using cellulose paste. Crayon, stitching and wax marks are applied to the surface of the collage before it is printed with the digital image.
