Winifred Lutz has been making paper for over forty years. She studied papermaking methods in Japan and Korea and she combines traditional Asian and European techniques of casting and and the use of high shrinkage and translucent papers in her work. Lutz is known for her complex and large-scale installations but is equally succesful in creating smaller scale works. In her sculptures she combines her papers with a different materials as concrete, wood and metal. With impressive workmanship she blends in forms, materials and colours into perfectly balanced sculptures.
